Welcome back everyone! Today we're featuring a very special Q&A with author, Lisa Wiedmeier. Her second novel in the Timeless Series is now available for purchase. Read on to find out more about Promises...

Cheyenne is determined to seek the light of truth in a web of darkness, but at what cost?

Still reeling from the revelations of her secret birthright and fated betrothals, Cheyenne's thoughts tumble over the whirlwind of life since the death of her parents. Vowing to close herself off to spare her heart more pain, she keeps her distance and seeks her own path. But Colt, Daniel and Callon are constantly at her side, not giving her room to breathe or let her come to terms with her destiny. At the same time, her transformation into a Timeless begins; a process that could very well kill her. As if that wasn't enough, her enemies are still out for her blood, and no-where is safe. Though new allies appear to protect her from the unseen dangers, which ones are friend and which are foe?

And can Cheyenne stand the ultimate pain of all...

Welcome back, Lisa. Thanks for stopping by to talk to us about your new book. For any readers who might not be familiar with your first book, who is Cheyenne?

Cheyenne is a young woman who finds out that she wasn’t who she thought she was. Her heritage had been hidden from her to protect her identity from those that would seek her out and kill her. She is from a line of people termed Timeless. Timeless is a form of immortality where they are born human. Around the age of twenty they transform into a Timeless being where they age one year for every one hundred human years.

Cheyenne is the last of the ruling clan, the Kvech. After her birth parents were murdered, she was sent to live with her adoptive parents, Gene and Alexis. Gene and Alexis raised her and protected her from the perils of being born human until they themselves were murdered just before Cheyenne’s graduation from High School.

Cheyenne is suddenly thrust into a world she knew nothing about. In the process of all of this she comes to find out that her best friend, Colt, was actually sent as her protector. Hurt, betrayal and so much more lies ahead for Cheyenne as she tries to become the person she was always meant to be.

You have a unique spin on Immortality. Can you explain what being 'Timeless' means and why you think the concept of immortality is so appealing to young adult readers?

Well, Timeless is a form of immortality. It’s where one is born human, but then around the age of twenty or so (it’s not an exact science as it’s different for everyone) they go through a transformation. Now the transformation is different for each as well. Cheyenne’s transformation began with headaches and then moved on to something even more deadly. If she survives, it will be a miracle.

Now, once the transformation process is complete, powers typically come next. Keep in mind that not every Timeless are blessed with powers. However, every Timeless is blessed with the gift of healing quickly. So, what that comes down to is if they are injured, say a broken bone, they will heal in hours in comparison to weeks.

Another benefit is that they age slower than a typical human does. It’s one year to every one hundred human years. So say Cheyenne is twenty when she transforms, she’ll remain looking twenty for one hundred years. Now…there are some limitations with the aging, but that’s for another time, say in Daylight, book three. : )

So as far as the concept of immortality being appealing to young readers, I think there is a certain thrill in knowing the character is harder to kill. Perhaps it’s the thought of “living forever” that draws them in. However, Timeless, Immortal, or not…everyone dies at some point in their lives.

Promises is the second installment in the Timeless Seriesand a continuation of Cheyenne's journey. Without giving away too much, how do Cheyenne's challenges differ in this book?

In Book One, Cheyenne has to come to terms with her hidden heritage. In Book Two, Cheyenne has to come to terms with the hand she’s been dealt. Cheyenne also undergoes her transformation and learns that her heart will never be given any peace. She also learns about the darkness that lurks just beneath the surface, the sweet and yet bitter taste that it leaves in your mouth once it’s brought forth.

The Cheyenne/Callon/Colt love triangle is a central theme in your novels. How does the dynamics between these three characters enhance the story as a whole?

What’s a story without a little romance, huh? But really, what’s a story without a romance that’s forbidden?

Cheyenne is betrothed to both Callon and Marcus, but her heart truly belongs to one…Colt. There is a tension growing between the two brothers as they fight for Cheyenne’s heart, a tension that leaves Cheyenne torn and broken.

Colt, the man who’s been her best friend, her light in the vale of darkness, the man who’s always willingly showed her his heart. And then there’s Callon, dark, mysterious, Mr. Evasive. He hold’s a passion so deep that if he truly lets Cheyenne in…it could be his own undoing.

Where is Daniel in all this? What is his unique role in Cheyenne's life?

Ah, Daniel, the all around good guy. Daniel’s whole existence in life it seems is to be a peacemaker; even his touch can calm Cheyenne’s heart. Daniel becomes the brother Cheyenne never had. His gentle teasing, his loving heart and his willingness to help Cheyenne however he can, shines through in Promises.

I'm an avid follower of your blog and Facebook page. How important is it to maintain that connection with your fans and readers?

It’s extremely important for me to maintain a connection with my fans. They buy my books, they cheer me on, they beg for more! I love interacting with them as much as I can. As my fan base has grown, it has been fun to have more actively participate in the blog or facebook postings. I love it when they tell me much they love the story, or say things like “I pulled a Cheyenne today”.

It warms my heart that they love my characters as much as I love them. I also love showing them my unique personality…they haven’t run away yet!

Are you working on any non-Timeless projects, or does Cheyenne take up most of your time these days?

I have The Gate series in mind, but I say in mind as really that’s all there is to it at the moment. I’ve got a few chapters done, a basic outline (in my crazy mind of course) and I plan on working on it once the first four books of the Timeless Series are out.

My editing of the Timeless books do take up a majority of my time, but for the other parts…well I spend a lot of time marketing. I’m always online talking, blogging, tagging, and anything else that comes into play when you’re an Indie Author. It’s like being “Super Author” instead of “Super Mom”. And then there’s the fact that I like to move at the speed of light and nothing else can keep up. :p

Writing and publishing a book is an experience most people only dream of. How has the Timeless series changed you?

Wow…that’s about all that comes to mind, okay not really. Not only has writing (I’m an accidental author) changed me, but publishing my work has brought me a fulfillment that I’d not thought possible.
I’m a creative person and need an outlet, writing lets me have that creativity flow freely and then share it with the world. To have readers enjoy my work gives me the greatest joy. I’d give it all away for free if I could, however, my husband, the bean counter, won’t allow it. Darn him…

Thank you, Lisa. It's been wonderful talking with you again. I'm sure everyone is dying to learn more about the series, so I've provided a few links to help you out.
